Documentário que discute o delicado processo de reconstrução da memória e da identidade dos índios Guató, tribo nômade dada como extinta. Num recenseamento realizado pelo Império no século 19, a tribo, do Pantanal, somavam 500 pessoas. Hoje, o número permanece mais ou menos o mesmo, mas muitos deles estão aculturados, vivendo na periferia das cidades pantaneiras. O número dos que ainda falam a língua nativa não chega a trinta.

A documentary that discusses the delicate process of reconstructing the memory and the identity of the Guató Indians, a nomadic people thought to have become extinct. A census taken by the Empire in the 19th Century found that this people of the Pantanal numbered 500. Today that number remains more or less the same, but many of them have become “decultured”, living on the periphery of the towns and cities of the region. The number who speaks the native language is now fewer than thirty.
